Meet the Optometrist


Dr. Brittany Capstick started Summit Eye Center in 2019. She graduated with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, with a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and a Doctor of Optometry. She completed her internship training at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT; Pediatric Strabismus Referral Center, Pacific University College of Optometry in Portland, OR; Lasik co-management at Spivack Vision Center in Denver, CO; and primary care at Alaska EyeCare Centers in Anchorage, AK. She completed a residency in Cornea/ Contact Lens and Ocular Disease at UC Berkeley School of Optometry in Berkeley, CA.

Dr. Capstick enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has an emphasis in contact lens management for the general lens wearer as well as those in need of specialty lenses, care for acute and chronic ocular diseases, along with comprehensive eye exams.

Dr. Capstick has worked in Sandy, UT since August 2012 and is licensed by the Utah State Board of Optometry. She has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 2007 and the Utah Optometric Association since 2012. Dr. Capstick served as a trustee on the Utah Optometric Association Board of Directors from 2013-2015 and received the Utah Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2015. Dr. Capstick has also been a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry since 2014.

When not at the office, Dr. Capstick enjoys spending time with her husband Jarrett and their two girls Emery and Mara as well as their dog Avy. Some of her favorite activities include alpine skiing, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, and camping.
